Never Give Up!

Never Give Up!

Got the best news I can remember,

Went to the clinic yesterday, I was feeling nauseated and pain in my back.

I told the doctor what was wrong, he must have heard something I told him, or saw the pain in my eyes, cause the next thing I know, they were not only taking my blood pressure which was very high, but brought the older head doctor in the room.

Within a hour I was given numerous kidney stone tests, I have to wear that high blood pressure device for 48 hours, they increased my blood pressure med for the morning, and the very best the older doctor recognized PTSD, asked me about it, I told him about the rape, and abuse where he gave me a brochure of free therapy and counseling, telling me that I’ve been through so much within the last 37 years, that what I’m experiencing is extreme PTSD, which needs and must be dealt with.

He concluded by saying your 51 years old, and have another 20 good years, we going to get you through this.

With tears of humility, and joy the only thing I can say for anyone who is like me, suffering and it looks like a dead end.

Never give up, I’m living proof, 37 years of constant roadblocks, and dead ends and now for one of the few times in my life, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

NEVER GIVE UP!

    Hi Sister!

I was also born in ’68. And that line, “37 years of constant roadblocks and dead ends, and now for one of the few times in my life, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.” That is awesome!

I hope that you will find in this therapy, the way to release shame and guilt and anger and pain and self-doubt and self-hatred, and to replace that with a sense of accomplishment, self-confidence, a sense of contentedness, understanding and acceptance of the beautiful being that you were, that you were meant to be, and that you are.

It’s not easy, and I think someone else said it best about how it is almost as hard doing this as it was surviving that. But there is good in this.
We have to embrace and accept the negative crap we said to ourselves at the time in order to survive.
We have to, in order to let go of these things and make room for the truth about ourselves.
We have to build a new understanding of who we are and who we want to be and make it so.

I am wishing you much success through this experience and am so happy you have found this resource.

      Stay strong, and thanks again

This was amazing to read! Your positive energy and your faith in yourself is more powerful than most people realize. It is wonderful that the doctor was able to see your pain and offer you a helping hand, through which he reinforced that you are not alone. People care about you and will help you get through this. Every day is a milestone and a success – you overcame whatever that day had to throw at you. And you’re doing amazing.
