    Hi Maria,

Congratulations on being clean for 25 days that is so exciting and shows how strong you are! It looks like there might be a waiting list for housing in Toronto: https://www.torontohousing.ca/rent/subsidized-housing but it might be worth applying anyways! I am not from the area but I figure applying could only help! Please update us as things change!

Congratulations on 25 days clean, Maria! That is incredible. You are carrying all of these heavy things and navigating some really serious stuff right now with so much bravery.

In addition to all of the resources others have offered here, I’ve found the Homeless Drop In & Outreach Services offered by the ACSA that might be useful for any time you’re between housing. They offer meals, clothes, internet access, and other things through the program. You can contact a drop-in worker at 416-321-6912, and there’s more information on their website – https://www.agincourtcommunityservices.com/homeless-drop-outreach-services
That same organization has housing assistance workers you could speak with at 416-321-6912, as well, and it looks like they keep a registry of landlords working with them to provide low income housing.

I wish you the best of luck. We are always here cheering for you!

    Hi Maria,

Congratulations on being 25 days clean. There is a shelter in Toronto called Covenant House that offers shelter for people under 25 years old. Another good resource is go to a library or community center near you. There are often people there who lots of resources and connections to help.

Stay strong and be gentle with yourself,

    Hi Maria,

Thanks for coming back to share. I’m sorry your husband’s mom isn’t letting you stay with her-there is a resource called horizonsforyouth.org that is based in Toronto and may be able to health-check out the website, and just give them a call, and they should be happy to help you. I’m glad you’ve been clean for 25 days-you should be proud.

    Dear Maria,

I am terribly sorry to read about your situation, but on the bright side, congratulations on being 25 days clean! That is a huge accomplishment. From what I’ve found, there are a few housing centres in the Toronto area including the Housing Help Association of Toronto (phone: 1 416 686 3390), Toronto Housing Co (phone: 1 416 981 6111) and East York Housing Help Centre (1 416 698 9306)
I hope you find the housing help you need, you are not alone in this fight! Stay strong.
