Am I posting too much?

Okay so the title of this post doesn’t really have to do with the content. I’m just wondering out loud if I am posting too much.

I’m posting again for two reasons. One, to thank everyone who has commented on my last three posts. I actually did read your comments and I appreciate them all. Two, I’m going to update you all on my life since last week when I posted for a third time.

I applied for some different jobs but have not heard back yet. I watched the new Netflix nature docuseries called Our Planet and I cried seeing how beautiful this world can be and being reminded at how much climate change sucks. I’m still not 100% okay but I am better. I’ve been reading this book called The Cure which is all about accepting yourself as a flawed individual who is not useless and who can change for the better. I also re-subscribed to Hulu recently and been watching some new shows. So, that’s it on my life update.

Sorry that this post isn’t some grand reveal of trauma or a big announcement of my path to self recovery or anything really significant. I just wanted to share how I’m doing to anyone who really cares or is listening. Off you are actually going through something horrible right now I really hope that you will stay strong and remember that you are faultless and you CAN change for the better.

Colton! I just commented on another one of your posts haha. I love that you are posting with us. Keep doing it. Keep us updated. We love hearing from you and want to be an ear for your whenever we can be. Also, Our Planet is awesome! I have a suggestion, but please don’t take it if you think it is off. I think are gifted with incredible passion and zest for life. Maybe you can channel your passion into creating a better world for others? I know a lot of us do that here, but maybe climate change is your thing? Just a thought.

Hey, colton95. Thanks for the update (no, you are not posting too much!). Always happy to hear from you. That book sounds great, I love the fact that you are working on accepting where you are. Not everything has to be grand or big. Life isn’t always like that, it’s actually more of what you are talking about—watching shows, reading new books. It’s nice to be able to sit in the here and now. We’re here and listening whenever you want to share.

This is a great update. It’s great to hear your thoughts on the new documentary on Netflix – I’ve been meaning to watch it! Everyday you wake up and take a moment for yourself is a day that you are recovering. It might not be an epiphany or a crazy moment of realization but the little victories matter more than the bigger ones at times.

check it out mate, there is no such thing as posting too much here! One of the things that I find solace in as a volunteer is hearing updates from our storytellers and watching their progress towards healing. Please, please, please do feel free to post as much here as you feel comfortable!

Hulu and Netflix are absolute musts. Sometimes it can help to turn the world off and get lost in a good show or movie- I too have seen Our Planet and 115% cried too. Shit was heavy.

Good luck on the job hunt! Once again, I hope you know that we are all here behind and beside you and we love to hear anything and everything you have to say. Keep on keepin on!

Not every post needs to be “significant” or a huge trauma reveal. If anything, I think it’s good that you are just updating us on some of the more “mundane”, but healthy, aspects of your life, and I think it’s good to celebrate those little things in life, too. Glad to hear you are doing better. Come back ANY time-we mean it. We will be here.
