Exploring A Crisis Center’s Services
When a person is deciding whether or not they want to find help at a crisis center or agency, there are so many terms and questions that can create obstacles, and ultimately lead to a person feeling too overwhelmed to seek help. “What if I can’t afford their services?” “Does this mean I have to make a police report?” “I doubt they’ve helped someone in my situation.” “What does a court advocate do anyway?”
Jamie sat down with Reagan Smith, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is also the Outreach Services Coordinator at Women’s Crisis Center in northern Kentucky. She helped to breakdown some common questions, possibly dispel some myths, and then help define a bunch of common terms.
